Taylor Quinley

I am a pastor committed to expository preaching that exalts Christ and transforms his people. I believe churches thrive when they cling to the Word, love sacrificially, evangelize urgently, and develop disciples diligently. In ministry, I lead only in submission to Christ and in cooperation and service to the local church.

Lead Pastor
Oolitic Baptist Church, Oolitic, IN
2018 - Present

Oolitic Baptist Church (OBC) has been a work of revitalization, growing considerably in both number and Christian maturity. As a revitalization, my role at OBC has had a special emphasis on leading through change, raising up young leaders, crafting and communicating vision, conflict resolution, and preaching with an unwavering commitment to God’s Word

Men's Ministry Director
Hope Resource Center, Bedford IN
2023 - Present

Hope is a pro-life pregnancy center providing care for women and families. My primary role as men’s director is to counsel young men whose partners face an unplanned pregnancy. I also lead efforts to help dads be the best dads they can be, urging them to live up to their God-given calling. Other duties include marriage and family counseling, teaching Sexual Risk Avoidance, leading staff devotionals, jail ministry and organizing fundraising events.

Associate Pastor
Calvary Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO
2015 - 2018

At Calvary Baptist, I was primarily responsible for overseeing the spiritual growth and maturity of the students through regular prayer, planning, leading, teaching, evangelizing, counseling, and discipleship. In addition to youth-oriented tasks, I also preached in the pastor’s absence, planned and oversaw annual missions trips, and led Vacation Bible School and special outreach events.

Preaching Philosophy

In preaching, I am entirely committed to expository preaching that exalts Christ and transforms his people.

Expository preaching...

I commit to preaching sermons consecutively through books of the Bible in which the point of the sermon is directly derived from the point of the biblical text. What God intends to communicate through each passage is exactly what I work to communicate in the sermon, explaining each text's meaning and making appropriate application.

...that exalts Christ...

I commit to preaching sermons that exalt Christ -- the good news of his perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection. The whole Bible, both Old and New Testaments, tell the one story of Christ and his Gospel. Because of this, every sermon should connect the passage to the story of redemption in Christ.

...and transforms his people...

I commit to preaching sermons which lead the church to see the urgency and beauty of obedience. Preaching informs the mind, but it must do more. Preaching must show in God's Word how God's people can be transformed into the image of God's Son. I am convinced that obedience to the Word brings blessing and joy -- to both our lives and our church.
